I’m so excited to finally be able to announce the release of my newest book! Decorative Alphabets is a coloring book for lettering and illustration enthusiasts of all ages. Color for fun, and color to learn!
The 50+ letter and border designs provide a relaxing art experience, but this is also a book for lettering artists looking for inspiration and traceable designs. Learn new lettering styles by tracing the exemplars, or just have fun coloring the ornate illustrations.
I started drawing these alphabets and illustrations last Spring, as lockdown began. Knowing that I had just the same 26 forms to work with in each composition, letters A to Z, was really meditative. It took the guesswork out of what forms to draw, leaving only how to draw them.
At first I was just making the alphabets for myself, but as the collection grew, I realized it was organically coming together into a book. Turning the designs into coloring pages seemed a natural next step, as the outlined forms lent themselves both to tracing and decorating.
The final collection includes 53 coloring pages of ornate alphabets, decorated majuscules, and illustrated borders.
The coloring pages are printed single-sided so you don’t have to worry about ink bleeds.
Generous margins mean it’s easy to cut out pages for sharing or tracing.
