Hi, I’m Molly – lettering artist, author, teacher.

When I’m not working on my own art projects, I teach and mentor lettering artists and calligraphers looking to take their next career steps. (I’ve actually helped thousands of them get better at what they love to do and make it work as a business!) Ready to take your lettering to the next level? I’d love to help you. Learn more.

Studio Hours with Molly

There’s nothing more rewarding than making great art. But taking it to the next level? Not as easy as it looks on YouTube.

Maybe you’re this close to going pro but need a few more studio hours with an artist who’s already there. Maybe you’ve started to make a living but aren’t sure how to make your creative business work.

It’s tough. I know. I’ve been there. And I’ve helped thousands of students, lettering artists, calligraphers, and entrepreneurs turn their creative side hustles into lifelong practices and sustainable business ventures.

Business Mentorship

Are you a digital or analog lettering artist who’s been thinking of starting – or getting serious about – a business? I can show you how to make it work. In your personalized, 60-minute virtual sessions, I can teach you how to:

  • transition from analog to digital lettering services

  • take on commercial work confidently

  • market your business on a budget

  • teach your first classes (and keep the creativity flowing!)

  • set prices for your services and policies for your business (e.g. setup fees, rush fees, shipping arrangements, etc.)

  • promote your own digital products (e.g. fonts, brushes, resources, etc.)

Procreate Calligraphy Lesson

Whether you’re taking your first steps in Procreate calligraphy or you’re ready to take your iPad lettering to the next level, virtual tutoring is a great way to master key skills and enrich your creative toolkit. In our 60-minute virtual lesson, I can help you:

  • master beginner-level calligraphy skills on the iPad like pen pressure, grip, and arm movement

  • polish intermediate to advanced script techniques, like flourishing, letter connections, and uppercase letterforms

  • cover basic and advanced troubleshooting (e.g. pen pressure improvements, Procreate techniques)

  • gain confidence using a whole range of digital lettering techniques, from choosing the right Procreate brush to designing for print

(Worried you’ll forget what you learned? I’ll give you a recording of every session!)

I conduct Studio Hours sessions on Zoom. Please make sure you have signed up for a free Zoom account prior to our meeting.

Absolutely! Please mention this in the Notes section of the form above.

— Can I reschedule or cancel?

Procreate Calligraphy Lessons FAQ:

— I’m a total beginner. Can I start learning calligraphy from scratch?
Yes. Absolutely no previous calligraphy experience is required to start private lessons with me. I’ll get you starting by covering all the basics of digital script calligraphy, starting with how to hold the pen (or in this case, the Apple Pencil)!

— What tools do I need for the lesson?
You will need an iPad with the Procreate app installed, an Apple Pencil, and a separate device (not your iPad) with a webcam for our video call.

— Will I be able to see your iPad screen in the video lesson?
Yes! I use a two-camera setup that will display my face and my iPad screen.

— Should I film my iPad in the video call so you can see my work?
This is optional but it would greatly help if you have questions that will require me to see your work. But don’t worry – you don’t need any fancy technology for this! You can dial into the call on a mobile phone and position it over your iPad, or dial in from your computer using a portable webcam positioned over your desk.
