Mastering Modern Calligraphy Hits Shelves

Book-Release-Graphics.jpg

This is a day I've been waiting two years for. Mastering Modern Calligraphy hits shelves!

It’s oddly fitting that I’ll spend today flying back across ten time zones—to Los Angeles, the city where my career started—adding ten hours to this exciting day. So here’s to my 34-hour-long October 8th. I’ll be savoring most of it from 35,000 feet, but savoring it nonetheless!

I want to send a huge wave of gratitude to my publisher, St. Martin’s Press, for giving me full creative license to write and design the book of my dreams, down to the very tiniest detail. And also send equal gratitude to my literary agent, who has supported and pushed me since I hatched the idea for my first book, Modern Calligraphy back in 2011.

To learn more about my new book, and where to shop for it around the world, please head over to my Mastering Modern Calligraphy page.

Molly Suber Thorpe

A calligrapher, teacher, and author, Molly’s work spans both modern lettering and historical script. She writes about calligraphy and handwriting as creative disciplines—shaped by tools, technique, habit, and attention—and considers what it means to write by hand in a digital age. In addition to designing custom lettering for clients, she creates books, free resources, and online classes for people who want to develop their calligraphy and handwriting, whether as a creative outlet, a professional skill, or both.
