Autumn in Palm Springs

When I designed the invitation suite for this wedding, the bride wanted a classic look with a twist: black and white calligraphy accented with vintage stamps and an antique gold and black floral print matting paper. It all seemed perfect for a Fall wedding in the desert, and now that I’ve seen Justine Ungaro’s photography, everything fits even better. I especially love the juxtaposition of aqua water and the floral arrangements of crimson, bright pink, and cactus green.

Molly Suber Thorpe

A calligrapher, teacher, and author, Molly’s work spans both modern lettering and historical script. She writes about calligraphy and handwriting as creative disciplines—shaped by tools, technique, habit, and attention—and considers what it means to write by hand in a digital age. In addition to designing custom lettering for clients, she creates books, free resources, and online classes for people who want to develop their calligraphy and handwriting, whether as a creative outlet, a professional skill, or both.
