Los Angeles Calligraphy Workshops

In April I will be leading two beginner-level workshops in Los Angeles. Each 3-hour class will cover the basics of modern script calligraphy, from holding the pen to writing the complete lowercase alphabet. Absolutely no previous calligraphy experience is required. The workshops are hands-on using all the traditional materials such as pointed nibs, pen holders and ink. All the supplies you'll need for the workshop, including a take-home kit and packet of letter samples, are included in the ticket price.

As with all my workshops, I'm only booking it for a very small class (which means lots of individual attention!), so I expect the spaces to fill up quickly.

Molly Suber Thorpe

A calligrapher, teacher, and author, Molly’s work spans both modern lettering and historical script. She writes about calligraphy and handwriting as creative disciplines—shaped by tools, technique, habit, and attention—and considers what it means to write by hand in a digital age. In addition to designing custom lettering for clients, she creates books, free resources, and online classes for people who want to develop their calligraphy and handwriting, whether as a creative outlet, a professional skill, or both.
